My hands have grown stiff and clumsy. The middle joint of my right pointer finger hurts most days. Not a debilitating pain. More of a nuisance than anything.

Knowing it is probably some sort of arthritis getting a head start on another joint is probably more annoying than the pain itself.

As a small act of defiance against the ravages of old age I decided yesterday at 1:00 PM that I'd take up crocheting.

I tried once before. For about a week during my senior year of college I decided it would be a decent thing to do with my hands while my roommate and I re-watched old episodes of Queer Eye For the Straight Guy.

After about 80 total minutes of practice I have an uneven black chain started. Hopefully sometime this evening I gain the courage to make the turn and actually start something.
